Ultimate Guide to Sports Streaming Services

Alright look, it’s Saturday night March 15 2026, like 9-something my time here in Colorado, and I’m literally sitting here with two games on at once because apparently that’s how we live now. One on the big TV through YouTube TV, the other on my iPad via Hulu because the tournament bracket is being difficult. My living room smells like leftover pizza and that weird artificial butter popcorn spray my kid loves. Dog is snoring. Wife is in the kitchen yelling “can you turn it down?!” It’s chaotic. It’s normal. It’s why I keep rewriting this stupid guide.

The first version I did felt too clean. Second one got closer but still read like I had my shit together. Spoiler: I don’t. I pay too much, forget to cancel trials, miss the start of games because I’m fighting the app login on my phone, the whole deal.

So third try. Messier. More typos probably. More me.

Why This Whole Thing Still Feels Like a Scam Sometimes

I swear when I ditched cable in like 2019 I thought I was winning. Saved $120 a month! Freedom! Now? Between YouTube TV, the Hulu bundle, occasional Fubo for hockey months, and the random Peacock or Paramount+ add-on when there’s a big fight or something… yeah I’m probably spending close to what I used to. Maybe more when you count the random $10 one-week subs I forget about.

Blackouts are the worst part. I’m in the Denver area and half the time my local RSNs are just… gone. Or the app says “content not available” even though the game is literally being played 20 miles away. Makes me want to scream into a pillow.

What I’m Actually Subbed to Right This Second

YouTube TV – $82.99/mo (I think? it went up again didn’t it?) Still my daily driver. Good national channels, decent DVR. Watched the Broncos lose heartbreakingly this season without too many glitches. But zero local RSN love for Nuggets/Avs lately. I miss games or pirate (shhh don’t judge).

Hulu + Live TV bundle with ESPN+ and Disney+ – like $94 or $95? March Madness savior right now. ESPN+ has a bunch of early round games that aren’t on the main channels. Downside: the app on my Roku buffers like crazy sometimes. Once froze right before a buzzer-beater and I threw a pillow at the TV. Didn’t help Sports Streaming Services 2026 .

Fubo – I resubbed two weeks ago for Avs playoffs push, $80 base. More sports channels than anyone, multi-view is nice. But their interface feels like it was designed in 2018 and never updated. Also dropped some RSNs again so who knows next month.

I also have Peacock ($7?) for random Premier League and NFL leftovers, and Paramount+ mostly because my wife likes the Star Trek stuff but it has Champions League sometimes.

Yeah. That’s four. Four logins. Kill me.

Random Tips From Someone Who Screws This Up Constantly

  • Write down renewal dates in your phone calendar or you WILL pay for crap you don’t use.
  • Test your zip code on every service’s site before giving them money. Learned this after losing $80 on Fubo one time.
  • If you’re big into one league, chase that first. NFL? YouTube TV + Sunday Ticket. Soccer? Fubo or Peacock. Basketball? Hulu/ESPN+ combo lately.
  • Accept you’ll need at least two. Maybe three. One-service dream is dead Sports Streaming Services 2026 .
  • When the app logs you out mid-game… breathe. Don’t smash anything. (Still working on this one.)

I don’t have a perfect setup. I overpay, I get mad, I miss parts of games because I’m troubleshooting instead of watching. But damnit when it works? When all three screens are showing different games and the pizza’s hot and nobody’s fighting over the remote? It’s pretty great.

That’s where I’m at tonight. Sweaty, overstimulated, slightly broke, but still hyped for the late games. If you’re in the same boat—too many apps, too many passwords, too much buffering—say hi in the comments. What’s breaking your setup right now? Who’s winning your March Madness bracket? (Mine’s already busted.)

Catch you next rant. Go sports or whatever.
