Okay look, I’m just sitting here in my apartment with the fan rattling because it’s already getting warm again even though it’s only March, staring at another $18.99 Netflix charge I forgot about. Seriously, I’m over it. So I keep falling back on free TV streaming websites that still work and yeah… most of them actually do still work pretty decent in 2026.
I’m not gonna pretend they’re perfect. Ads interrupt at the worst moments, sometimes the quality drops to like 480p on my slow wifi, and the selection can be random as hell. But last weekend I was dead tired after work, ordered Domino’s, threw on some dumb 2000s reality show on Pluto and it was exactly what I needed. No subscription guilt, just vibes.

My Go-To Free Ones Right Now (No Sponsored BS)
Tubi — still number one for me. Found this awful-but-addictive 90s action movie marathon the other night and watched way too many. Ads every 12–15 minutes but they’re short. I barely ever log in, just hit play.
Pluto TV — feels like cable from when I was a kid. I’ll literally channel surf for 20 minutes before picking something. Got sucked into old episodes of Unsolved Mysteries once at 2 a.m. and scared myself stupid. Embarrassing.
Roku Channel — underrated. If you have a Roku stick or even just the app, it’s solid. Free movies change pretty often, some live news stuff too.
Freevee — only when I’m already on Prime anyway. It’s fine, nothing mind-blowing but no extra effort.
Sometimes I bounce to Plex for the free live channels or Xumo but honestly the first three carry most nights.

If you want outside opinions PCMag still does good roundups: https://www.pcmag.com/picks/the-best-free-video-streaming-services CNET too: https://www.cnet.com/tech/services-and-software/best-free-streaming-services/
Dumb Things I Did (Learn From Me)
Once clicked a “100% free no ads ever” link from some random Google result — within like 5 minutes my browser was popping every ad known to man and I had to restart my laptop in safe mode. Felt like an idiot. Never again.
Also signed up for a “free trial” on something else and forgot — paid $12.99 for two months before I noticed. Classic.
These free TV streaming websites that still work aren’t glamorous but they’ve probably saved me like $200–300 this year already. That’s real money for groceries or gas or whatever.
Anyway I’m rambling now. Point is — if you’re sick of bills, start with Tubi tonight. Worst case you hate it in 10 minutes and close the tab. Best case you waste a whole Saturday on bad horror movies like me. What are you guys using these days? Seriously tell me in the comments, I’m always looking for new ones. Alright I’m out, gonna go reheat some leftovers. Peace.
